Walk with Your Pooch in 4th of July Parade

TakomaDogs is marching in the Takoma Park 4th of July parade. We would love for you to join us. All well-behaved dogs are welcome. Sign up to participate in the parade by visiting this link.

The parade route is just over a mile long and takes 30-45 min to walk (starting at Carroll and Ethan Allen Ave, south on Carroll to Maple, right on Maple continuing to the end on Ritchie Avenue).  Fortunately, our group, "Takoma Dogs," will be early in the parade so you can walk with us then enjoy the rest of the parade.

The official Reviewing Stand is in front of Piney Branch Middle School on Maple Ave toward the end of the parade route - we'd like to have as many people in our group as possible at that point to show wide support for a dog park in our community!

We will meet at 9:45am in the Division 2 staging area on Manor Circle in the first block off Carroll Avenue.  Look for the Takoma Dogs banner.  Bring water for yourself and your dog (we will also have some extra), sunscreen, hat, and possibly an umbrella to provide shade for your pooch.  There will be a porta-potty near the picnic area in Takoma Junction for human parade participants to use.

You are welcome to come by yourself or with your dog. If you bring a dog, please also bring some poop bags.

We also need several kids to help carry the banner or pull wagons. If you'd like to volunteer, email Stacy at stg2243 at yahoo.com.

To participate, please fill out this form.

Everyone is welcome!
