I know you're all suffering from lobbying fatigue over the dog park. Every time we go to Council we hear words of encouragement. Despite this, the process drags on and on. But it's important that we don't lose heart.
Tonight is a budget hearing where the City Council wants to hear from residents on issues that are important, such as the dog park. Tonight will decide how much money is devoted to dog park construction. This will decide whether or not it gets built this year, next year, or never. Council's decision tonight could further delay park construction until well into 2015 or later.
Come tell them to budget sufficient funds to "Open the Gates" in calendar year 2014. The hearing is at 7:00 p.m. at the Community Center auditorium. It's important that you be there and testify.
If you can't make it, visit our Take Action page and send an email to City Council. The more people who attend and testify, and the more people who email, the more likely to succeed we will be.
Thanks for you continued support and vigilance. Remember, Jean de la Bruyere said, "There is no road too long to the man who advances deliberately and without undue haste; there are no honors too distant to the man who prepares himself for them with patience."
