Join fellow dog park supporters and community-minded residents for the National Day of Service at the dog park from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 19. We'll be clearing invasives and other debris and litter from the Takoma Woods, the area of trees between Piney Branch Elementary and Takoma Park Middle where the dog park will be located.
Please bring gloves, shovels, french drain spades, pruning saws or loppers, if you can. If you don't have tools to bring, at least bring bring gloves you can work in, trash bags, and clippers.
We're told that older students can earn SSL hours.
There will be a check-in table in the parking lot at Takoma Park Middle between 10 am & 11 am, and you can follow a trail of ribbons from there to the dog park area. After that, everyone will be at the dog park area, which will be in the parking lot at the end of Darwin Ave., halfway between the two schools. From Piney Branch Road, take Grant Ave. for two blocks, turn left on Darwin, and go one block.
We're supposed to have sunny skies and 44 degrees. That's about as good as it gets for the middle of winter! Hope to see you there!
