Council Discusses Dog Park Budget & Design, Monday

Simplified dog park design by Erik Saul.

The Takoma Park City Council will discuss the new, smaller dog park design this Monday, March 9.  Public comments are taken about 7:30. The Council discussion will occur about 8:10 p.m. in Council chambers at 7500 Maple Avenue in Takoma Park. Please come and show your support by making a comment, wearing your dog park t-shirt, and telling Council you want the gates open this summer.

TakomaDogs Chief Designer, local architect Erik Saul, has reduced the size and complexity of the dog park, saving about $100,000 from the original design. You can view the City Council packet here. Click the picture, above, if you want to see an overview of the design.

Anyone who cannot attend but would like to make a comment should address those comments to the City Council and email them to clerk@takomaparkmd.gov. Please copy TakomaDogs at info@takomadogs.org on any comments you send. To send a pre-written email, click here.

The Council meetings can be viewed live on City TV. Meetings are also recorded for playback later online and found here.
