This year, Jill Feasley's Big Dog will be teaming up with TakomaDogs to walk in Takoma Park's 4th of July Parade. All friendly dogs and their human families are invited to walk with us. We're early in the parade so you can walk with us then enjoy the rest of the parade.
We will meet at 9:45 a.m. in the parade's Division 2 staging area on Manor Circle in the first block off Carroll Avenue, across from Bikram Yoga. Look for the “Takoma Dogs” banner and The Big Dog. Please bring water for yourself, your family, and your dog. Also, don't forget poop bags, sunscreen, hat, and possibly an umbrella to provide shade for your pooch and you.
There will be a porta-potty near the picnic area in Takoma Junction for human parade participants to use and a couple of porta-potties set up along the parade route. The route itself is about a mile, about half of it in shade.
And don't forget to wear your “Support the Dog Park” t-shirt if you have one. If you would like to buy one, we will have some at the parade for $15. Please bring the exact amount, if possible, because we will have limited change available.
ALL ARE WELCOME: Big dogs, little dogs, puppies, adults, kids, babies. With or without a dog, if you want Takoma Park to have a dog park for pets and people, please join us! If you can’t join us at the beginning – feel free to jump in along the parade route.
